We had our inaugural Root Cause Clinical Gathering in Glasgow where our trichologists spent the weekend with co-founders Wil Fleeson and Victoria Russell to develop their skills both technical and interpersonal.
Our board advisor and trichologist Jacky travelled over from Amsterdam, while Steve, Belinda, Mandy and Sarah travelled from across the UK. Corinne joined online as the event was too close to a special event of her own (her wedding!).
What were our highlights?
There is nothing like face-to-face time to really discuss in detail the Root Cause Clinical business model – its clients, processes and techniques. We have a monthly Q&A online session alongside our online Continuing Professional Development sessions for each year, but our summer weekend allowed us to relax and discuss topics in a much more deeper way.
Co-founder Wil walked us through our Initial Consultation process live with a real client in our training venue. He illustrated how our processes saves time and ensuring the client is the main focus of their time together. Our automation and standardisation ensures the Root Cause Clinical standard is smooth for client and trichologist. Our test client was so grateful and we are grateful she allowed us to observe.
Our trichologist Sarah keeps us up to date on the latest news and science on hair replacement systems and she brought a selection to discuss when and how they can help our clients. These can be transformational for clients with thinning or permanent hair loss.
We are so proud that Sarah has won Hair Loss Specialist of the Year 2024. She is passionate about supporting men and women with hair loss difficulties and hair replacement systems offers our clients another option to consider if other treatments are not appropriate.

As a team of professionals, it was important to also focus on our leadership and team skills. Co-founder Victoria brought her team building kit with her and brought some friendly competition between two teams of trichologists (even Corinne participated online!). There were laughs, frustrations and a winning team when we did the Nail Game. We won’t say who was the most competitive… Wil!!
Our board advisor Jacky packed her bag with DakMatter products to demonstrate and walk through several case studies of before and after scalp conditions using these products.
We loved the texture, smell and packaging of the products and are already recommending as an option for our clients to consider, especially if they wish to focus on less intrusive treatments.
Our favourite products so far are the slip wash and curl definer but there is so much to choose from! That is why Jacky’s in-depth knowledge is invaluable to our training. We are seeing results already.

We were also delighted to show our trichologists the best of Glasgow, managing a relaxing dinner in Merchant City. Our 2025 gathering is already in the pipeline!
